Happy New Year? My painting progress has been very slow due to real-life intrusions into my hobby time. However, the commissars and sentinel I was wittering on about earlier are done Now I have a picture of them just for you! Don't tell the rest of the internet! I still need to come up with a good looking banner for commissar Yarrick though. My friend LAD suggested a parchment colored banner covered in tiny "writing" with a big ornate capital letter in the upper left corner of the banner. I like this idea, I might go for it.
In other news, my DBA Egyptian army is pretty much a bust. Turns out, those plastic Atlantic models are just a bit too flimsy. When I tried to paint them, the models would bend and the previous layers of paint broke off. Hmm. I'll have to come up with something else, maybe a metal 15mm New Kingdom army from somewhere.
I'm also considering other scales of miniatures, as an artistic change; I've got a 10mm undead army that needs painting, and I've always liked the 6mm models Games Workshop made for its Epic 40k games. Those have the advantage of being cheap. We shall see...
All of this is academic until I finish 10 more Imperial Guardsmen, another Chimera APC, and a Techpriest with a couple of servitors. These are in varying stages of painty-ness now.
